Cancer Clinic

At the Cancer Clinic, we provide specialized service in the diagnosis and treatment of cancers of the Kidney, Bladder, Ureter, Prostate, Testis and Penis.

Cancer can affect any part of the urinary and male genital system.

Cancers of the Urinary system

The urinary system consists of the kidneys, which makes urine. The urine then passes down tubes known as ureters to the bladder. The bladder stores the urine till it can be passed out at a convenient time and place. The passage from the bladder out is called the urethra.

Therefore the cancers of the urinary system are:

  1. Kidney Cancer
  2. Bladder Cancer
  3. Ureteric cancer
  4. Prostate Cancer
Kidney Cancer

Kidney cancer has a good outcome when it is removed while still confined to the kidney.

The presentation of kidney cancer may be classical or bizarre.

Bladder Cancer

Most bladder cancers are superficial and have a good outcome when detected and treated early. The earliest warning sign is usually bleeding in the urine (Hematuria)

Ureteric Cancer

Ureteric cancers are uncommon. They usually occur together with bladder cancers. An early indication of their presence is blood in the urine.

Prostate Cancer

The prostate lies below the bladder and encircles the urethra as it leaves the bladder. It is intimately related to the urinary system. The portion of the urethra or urine passage from the bladder to the outside that is encompassed by the prostate is known as the prostatic urethra.

Cancers of the Male Genitalia

The male genitalia consist of:

  1. Testes
  2. Penis

Cancers can occur in these organs and are correspondingly termed:

  1. Testis cancer or testicular cancer
  2. Penis cancer or penile cancer
Testis Cancer

Unlike other cancers, testis cancer is a disease of the young. It has a very good outcome and is an example of the success of medical science in treating cancers.

Penis Cancer

Penis cancer is a rare cancer. Its significance lies in the fact that its appearance may resemble many common skin conditions affecting the penis.
